Volcengine Cost Management: No TOS Subscription to Build
The Billing Center manages one cloud, and depth means subscribing bills to TOS or calling the OpenAPI. Mof unifies Volcengine with your other clouds in one read-only table: Resource Center, anomaly detection, allocation and real payable.

Why teams use Mof to manage Volcengine cost
Many teams run compute, Object Storage (TOS), cloud databases and CDN on Volcengine, reading the bill in the Billing Center and allocating by projects and tags. Going deeper means subscribing bills to TOS or calling the OpenAPI yourself — and once you also run other clouds, “why did this cost more?” takes several places to answer.
Mof is a FinOps platform for teams running more than one cloud — AWS, Azure and GCP alongside Alibaba, Tencent and other clouds most tools can’t reach. It connects to Volcengine read-only, then layers on the Resource Center, virtual tags, anomaly detection and cost allocation — all in one view.
Three ways to read your Volcengine bill — each with a catch
Billing Center, bill storage to TOS, Bill OpenAPI — each solves a piece, and each stays inside Volcengine.

How Mof solves these
Connect read-only, unify Volcengine with your other clouds, and add the Resource Center, virtual tags, anomaly detection and allocation.
Volcengine native vs Mof
| Dimension | Volcengine native | Mof |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-cloud | Volcengine-only | Volcengine + Alibaba / Tencent / Huawei + global in one table |
| Depth | Subscribe to TOS or call OpenAPI yourself | Detailed dashboard on connect |
| Billing fields | Differ across bill types | Normalized, one schema across clouds |
| Resource + usage + cost | Cost and monitoring utilization split | Resource Center: inventory + P95 + payable + waste |
| Virtual tags | Native tags / projects | Virtual tags, flexible allocation |
| Real payable (reseller) | Reseller hides discounted price | Custom discounts → real payable |
| Anomaly detection | Basic | Holt-Winters real-time |
| Unified alerts | Volcengine’s own notifications only | Cross-cloud, to Slack / email / IM |

Volcengine cost management FAQ
How is Mof different from Volcengine’s Billing Center?
The Billing Center handles single-cloud billing and allocation inside Volcengine; depth means subscribing bills to TOS or calling the OpenAPI and building tables yourself. Mof connects read-only and builds a detailed dashboard with no TOS subscription and no code, then adds the Resource Center (utilization + cost + waste), virtual tags, anomaly detection and cost allocation — and puts your other clouds in the same view.
For Volcengine bought through a reseller, can Mof show the real payable?
Yes. Under a reseller the console may show list pricing, not your discounted cost. Mof applies custom discounts to compute the real payable, and shows billed, discount, saved and payable.
How does Mof connect to Volcengine billing data? Is it safe?
Through a read-only IAM sub-user key (or bill storage subscribed to TOS). Mof reads billing and resources only — it needs no write access and changes nothing in your account.
Does it conflict with Volcengine’s allocation and tags?
No. Mof reuses your tags, projects and account structure, then adds cross-cloud showback and virtual tags on top — shared resources split by your rules.
Which Volcengine services does it cover?
Compute, Object Storage (TOS), cloud databases, load balancing, CDN, public IPs and other major line items sync automatically — no per-service setup.
