Oracle OCI Cost Management: No CSV to Download and Stitch
Cost Analysis only skims; detail means Cost Reports — CSV in a bucket you download, parse and load, lagging up to 24h — and it’s OCI-only. Mof unifies OCI with your other clouds in one read-only table: real payable, allocation, alerts and Excel export.

Why teams use Mof to manage Oracle Cloud cost
Plenty of teams run Compute, block and object storage, Autonomous Database and OKE on OCI, reading the bill either coarsely in Cost Analysis or by parsing Cost Reports. Once resources span compartments — and you run other clouds too — “why did this cost more?” and “whose is this?” take several places to answer.
Mof is a FinOps platform for teams running more than one cloud — AWS, Azure and GCP alongside Alibaba, Tencent and other clouds most tools can’t reach. It connects to OCI read-only, then layers on real payable, the Resource Center, cost allocation and real-time alerts — all in one view.
Three ways to read your OCI bill — each with a catch
Cost Analysis, Cost Reports, invoices — each solves a piece, and each leaves a gap.
- Limited granularityDeeper detail means Cost Reports
- Hard to shareCan’t show the view to people without OCI access
- No real-time alertsBudgets are separate and basic
- OCI-onlyYou organize across compartments / tenancies yourself
- Just CSVDropped in an Oracle Object Storage bucket, no dashboard
- You download itPull with OCI CLI, then parse and load
- Data lagsGenerated every 6h, up to 24h behind
- Split when largeOver a million rows splits into files
- Monthly totals onlyNo drill-down to resources
- Retail pricingResellers can’t see the real payable
- Static billNo trends, allocation, or alerts
How Mof solves these
Connect read-only, unify OCI with your other clouds, and fill in real payable, Resource Center, allocation and alerts.

Oracle Cloud cost management FAQ
How is Mof different from OCI Cost Analysis and Cost Reports?
Cost Analysis only skims the surface; for detail you use Cost Reports — CSV files dropped in an Oracle Object Storage bucket (the old Usage Reports were retired in 2025) that you download, parse and load with the CLI. Mof connects read-only and produces a detailed dashboard with no CSV to handle, then adds real payable (custom discounts), the Resource Center, cost allocation and alerts, and puts your other clouds in the same view.
For Oracle Cloud bought through a reseller, can Mof show the real payable?
Yes. Reseller bills usually show retail pricing, not what you pay the reseller. Mof supports custom discounts to convert retail into your real payable, and clearly shows billed, discount, saved and payable.
How does Mof connect to OCI billing data? Is it safe?
Through an OCI API key / IAM policy with read-only permissions (or by reading the Object Storage bucket that holds Cost Reports, per our docs). Mof reads billing and resources only — it needs no write access and changes nothing in your OCI tenancy.
Does Mof’s data lag too?
Mof syncs billing promptly — no waiting for Cost Reports generated every 6h and up to 24h behind — and adds real-time budget and anomaly alerts that notify the right people the moment you overspend.
Which OCI services does it cover? Does it support tag-based allocation?
Compute, block storage, object storage, Autonomous Database, OKE, networking and other major line items sync automatically. Allocation reuses your OCI tags and compartment structure, and untagged shared resources can be split by ratio or custom rules.
