Huawei Cloud Cost Management: Reconciled, One Table Across Clouds

The Cost Center manages one cloud; depth means complex allocation rules or exports / APIs, and resource vs charge precision differs. Mof unifies Huawei with your other clouds in one read-only table: Resource Center, anomaly detection, allocation and partner real payable.

Why teams use Mof to manage Huawei Cloud cost

Plenty of teams run ECS, OBS, RDS, ELB and CDN on Huawei Cloud, analyzing cost in the Cost Center and allocating with cost tags and enterprise projects. Going deep or across accounts means configuring allocation rules or working the API — and once you run Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud or global clouds too, “why did this cost more?” takes several places to answer.

Mof is a FinOps platform for teams running more than one cloud — AWS, Azure and GCP alongside Alibaba, Tencent and other clouds most tools can’t reach. It connects to Huawei read-only, then layers on the Resource Center, anomaly detection, cost allocation and real payable — all in one view.

Three ways to read your Huawei Cloud bill — each with a catch

Cost Center / Billing Center, data export, Bill API — each solves a piece, and each stays inside Huawei Cloud.

How Mof solves these

Connect read-only, unify Huawei Cloud with your other clouds, and add the Resource Center, virtual tags, anomaly detection and allocation.

It’s Huawei-only — Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud and global clouds all live in separate tools
Mof brings Huawei Cloud together with Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, AWS, Azure and GCP — one table to view and compare.
For depth or multiple accounts, you configure allocation rules in Cost Center, or export and process the API yourself
Mof connects read-only and produces a detailed dashboard — drill down by resource, account or tag, with no complex rules or tables to build.
Resource detail (8 dp) and charge (2 dp) use different precision — even Huawei advises against reconciling them directly
Mof reconciles on one schema by real payable — billed, discount, saved and payable line up, with no wrestling between two precisions.
Cost and utilization are viewed separately, so over-provisioned / idle instances are hard to spot
Mof’s Resource Center shows it in one place: inventory + utilization (P95) + real cost per resource + over-provisioned / idle / orphaned / stopped, across accounts and clouds.
Huawei Cloud bought through a partner (reseller) hides the real discounted payable
Mof supports custom discounts: it converts list pricing into your real payable, laying out billed, discount, saved and payable in one line.
Complex allocation rules (resource-package deduction ownership, unallocated cost…) make shared resources hard to split
Mof does showback by team / project / tag, splitting shared resources by your rules — then exports to Excel that finance can book directly.
With mostly budgets / optimization assessments, spend spikes surface late
Mof’s anomaly detection (Holt-Winters) catches spikes in real time and pushes to Slack, email, DingTalk, Lark or WeCom, with thresholds per account / team.

Huawei Cloud cost management FAQ

How is Mof different from Huawei Cloud’s Cost Center and Billing Center?

Those handle single-cloud cost analysis and allocation inside Huawei Cloud. Mof unifies Huawei Cloud with Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, AWS, Azure and GCP in one table, then adds the Resource Center (utilization + cost + waste), virtual tags, anomaly detection and partner real payable — with no complex allocation rules to configure and no exports or APIs to process yourself.

For Huawei Cloud bought through a partner (reseller), can Mof show the real payable?

Yes. Under a partner the console may show list pricing, not your discounted cost. Mof supports custom discounts to compute the real payable, and clearly shows billed, discount, saved and payable.

How does Mof connect to Huawei Cloud billing data? Is it safe?

Through an IAM sub-user access key with read-only permissions (or a bill export). Mof reads billing and resources only — it needs no write access and changes nothing in your Huawei Cloud account.

Does it conflict with Huawei Cloud’s cost tags, enterprise projects or allocation rules?

No. Mof reuses your tags, enterprise projects and account structure, and layers cross-cloud showback and virtual tags on top — shared resources split by your rules, aligned to how you account internally.

Which Huawei Cloud services does it cover?

ECS, OBS, RDS / GaussDB, ELB, CDN, EIP, NAT and other major line items sync automatically — no per-service setup.
